Scott leads Niles West to 3rd at Buffalo Grove Invite

Junior wins two events; Rothstein, Kerbel also claim victories


The Niles West won four events on the way to third place Saturday at the 11-team Buffalo Grove Invitational.

The Wolves finished with 192 points behind Lake Park (211) and Cary-Grove (203) and ahead of St. Patrick (190).

Junior Konner Scott won the 200-yard individual medley (1 minute, 59.89 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (48.24).

Niles West’s other winners were Zachary Rothstein in diving (333.90) and Elliott Kerbel in the 100 butterfly (56.55).

The Wolves’ second-place finishers included the 200 medley relay team of Tim Binkley, Ryan Miller, Elliott Kerbel and Scott (1:45.34) and the 400 free relay team of Binkley, Kerbel, Ryan Miller and Scott (3:24.35).
Ryan Zimmer took third in diving (313.30 points).

Niles West’s other top finishes included a fourth by  Kerbel in the 200 free (1:52.76), a fifth from Binkley in the 100 backstroke (59.35) and sixths from Miller in the 200 IM (2:13.02) and Binkley in the 50 free (24.08).
