Forrest's 18 points leads Deerfield past Vernon Hills
Kathleen Forrest led the Deerfield girls basketball team with 18 points en route to a 47-38 win over Vernon Hills Tuesday night in Deerfield.
After opening the game on a 10-0 run, Deerfield (5-17) outscored Vernon Hills 8-2 in the third quarter to pull away to a 37-23 lead.
Vernon Hills made comeback in the second quarter, taking a brief lead at 17-16, but the Warriors regained a 29-21 lead at the half.
Kelly O’Connell contributed nine points for the Warriors.
