The Deerfield boys basketball team (23-2) didn’t let Friday night’s loss to Glenbrook North affect them one bit.
The host Warriors (23-2) bounced back to defeat Conant 69-55 Saturday night.
The Warriors broke the game open by outscoring the Cougars 26-8 in the third quarter. “It was a great bounce back game for us,” Deerfield coach Bret Just said. “Last night was disappointing, but the team didn’t let it get to them. They did exactly what they needed to do and played exactly the way they needed to play.”
The Warriors were led by Duje Dukan’s 32 points. But they also got solid performances from Max Burgess ( 13 points) and David Panter (10).
“It was a great team effort,” Just said. “Yesterday our shots weren’t falling. But tonight we made a lot of shots. That really helped get us going in this one.”
Conant fell to 15-10.
Deerfield plays host to Waukegan in the Central Suburban League crossover at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
